Our Pastors
Darrick Hayden has been pastoring New Beginnings Christian Fellowship since its infancy. Darrick and his wife Jennifer met at Calvary Chapel Bible College in California, where they married and felt called to return to Darrick's home town of Evansville, Indiana. In Evansville, Darrick began an internship with Calvary Chapel of Evansville and also served as an assistant pastor.
In 1996, Darrick felt called to step out and pioneer a new work which began as a home fellowship, and has grown into an established ministry, touching lives with the teaching of the Word of God.
Doug Horner first answered God's call of ministry on his life in 1986 when he served as the youth pastor for a church in a small Ohio town. Since then, Doug has served in numerous other places. In 2002, Doug moved to Evansville to start Centerpoint Community Church. God has now called him to be the Worship and Family Pastor at New Beginnings.
In his free time, Doug enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer and their two boys David and Joel. Doug also enjoy's traveling with David's band, and attending and coaching Joel's sporting events.
Our History
New Beginnings Christian Fellowship began as a home fellowship in 1997. Within three months it grew so that it became necessary to find a larger meeting place.
The fellowship moved to a hotel conference room for another three months until a temporary home was found at a West Side storefront property, where the fellowship continued to grow for two years.
In the summer of 2000, the Lord opened wide the door for the humble congregation to purchase Kramers Lake, where the church has resided over the past ten years.
Our Vision
The Word of God has a transforming effect upon the lives of those it touches.
New Beginnings Christian Fellowship was established to win people to Christ by sharing the truths and simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Secondly, our vision is to build people up in Christ through the systematic teaching of God's Word.
And finally, to send people into the world for Christ that by Him the world might be impacted for eternity.
Mission Statement
The Pillars of our beliefs are found in Acts 2:42; Fellowship, Teaching, Communion, and Prayer.
" They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42
Fellowship
Fellowship is an important focus of our weekly service. Please take time to meet new people and chat both before and after the service. Take advantage of our cafe and home fellowships.
Teaching
The weekly teaching is verse-by-verse through entire books of the Bible. By this method, we seek to receive the full counsel of the Word of God. In addition, there are several children's classes that meet during adult service. These include worship, teaching and activities that are specific to various age groups. Middle and High School ages meet monthly at the Church. Please call the church for details. During our worship, we seek to direct our thoughts toward God through a time of corporate praise. This ideally results in the preparation and softening of our hearts to receive the Word of God.
Communion
Communion is available at the altar, following the teaching, and there will be a time to receive prayer from the elders. We also recognize the giving of our tithes and offerings to the Lord as a part of our worship, and not something that should be done out of compulsion. Therefore, we have provided a tithe box near the back of the sanctuary.
Prayer
Prayer is essential in the life of each believer for a strong relationship with the Lord. In addition to the opportunity to receive prayer at the altar, we invite you to write your requests and send them to us.
Located on the former Kramer's Lake, New Beginnings has been blessed with sprawling grass-filled hills, a sand volleyball court, mutliple pic-nic shelters, a playground, and a beautiful lake with many available water activities.
About Calvary Chapel
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Overview
Calvary Chapel has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.
We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
We believe worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
We believe worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give a great place to music in our worship.
We believe worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshiped.
We believe worship of God is fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.

Your child is wonderfully special and unique, and we consider it a privilege to serve God by serving you and the child He has given you.
Because your child is so precious, we adhere to strict policies and procedures to make sure your child is safe and healthy in our nursery.
Privacy for nursing mothers separate from the nursery can be found in the nursing mothers room.
Prayer Ministry
New Beginning's E-prayer chain ministry has been established to quickly place the needs of our body into the hearts of warriors. We believe prayer is a vital element of our Christian walk. It is such a blessing to those who have committed to be faithful in prayer and to intercede for others.
Prayer requests are forwarded three to four times each day. If you need to reach us by phone you may call 454-1587 or 985-9603. You may be added to New Beginning's Prayer chain by calling the numbers listed or sending a message to peace2u_insightbb.com.

Benevolence
The New Beginnings Benevolence Ministry is led by caring, committed and trusted individuals. We sincerely want to serve the Lord by providing a way for support to be received in times of need. We look not only to provide individuals with financial support, but also to provide spiritual support through prayer and other methods of assistance.
This ministry is supported in several ways: by the annual budget; by donated funds designated specifically for benevolence; and by time and talents offered to assist a person in need. After evaluation of individuals, help may be given when possible in the form of gift cards, utility bill payment, housing assistance and when appropriate monetary funds. The benevolence ministry not only supports the NBCF family, but also supports requests from the surrounding community upon evaluation.
The New Beginnings Benevolence Ministry supports the Evansville Christian Life Center and is a member of the Life Network. We support the ECLC with food, clothing and finances. In return, we refer those in need of clothing, food, housing or financial assistance to the Evansville Christian Life Center.
