End Times Bible Study

New Beginnings Lakeside Church began as a home fellowship in 1997. Within three months it grew so that it became necessary to find a larger meeting place.

The fellowship moved to a hotel conference room for another three months until a temporary home was found at a West Side storefront property, where the fellowship continued to grow for two years.

In the summer of 2000, the Lord opened wide the door for the humble congregation to purchase Kramers Lake, where the church has resided over the past eighteen years. Our story is a story of the Lord's provision and care for His body!

We base our church on the model found in Acts 2:42:
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."
The Word of God (apostle's doctrine) and its systematic, verse-by-verse teaching is at the heart of our church. We set aside time each week on Saturday, Sunday, and certain weekdays to meet together (fellowship) and build each other up in the Lord. Every Sunday, we remember the sacrifice of our Lord as we participate in communion (the breaking of bread). And finally, we seek the Lord as a body and as individuals through prayer.
New Beginnings Lakeside is associated with Calvary Chapel and as such, affirms the Calvary Chapel statement of faith in regards to the following doctrines:
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. We believe the Bible is the final authority in every area it addresses for every individual Christian, as well as for the church collectively. (2 Timothy 3:16-172 Peter 1:21John 10:35)
We believe there is one God who eternally exists as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that all things were created by Him and for Him. (Deuteronomy 6:4Isaiah 45:21-22Matthew 28:19Colossians 1:16)
We believe that God the Son became a human being in the person of Jesus Christ. That He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life (for He was without sin), died a substitutionary death for all mankind, was raised from the dead the third day, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God until His enemies are made His footstool. (John 1:114Matthew 1:18-252 Corinthians 5:211 Peter 3:181 Corinthians 15:3-4Hebrews 10:12-13)
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit was sent by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates and indwells and seals every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that He empowers us to live as witnesses for Christ. We believe that all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to His church today. (John 14:16-17John 16:7-11Titus 3:5-6Romans 8:91 Corinthians 6:19-20Ephesians 1:13-14Acts 1:8Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12-14, 1 Peter 4:10-11)
We believe that God created human beings, male and female, in His own image. He created them sinless, equal in value, dignity, and worth. According to His purpose and design, men and women are created to fulfill distinct but complementary roles in the contexts of marriage, family, and the local church. (Genesis 1:26-28Ephesians 5:22-6:41 Timothy 3:1-7)
Sin and Salvation
We believe that, as a result of the Fall, all people are sinners by nature and in need of a Savior, and that Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior of the world. That salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Him. We believe that all who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved eternally. (Romans 3:10Romans 3:23Romans 5:18-19Matthew 1:211 John 4:14John 14:6Acts 4:12Ephesians 2:8-9Romans 10:9)
The Church
We believe there is one church, the body of Christ, consisting of men and women from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. We believe that each local congregation is an expression of that universal church. (Ephesians 4:41 Corinthians 12:12-13Revelation 5:9Acts 2:42-47)
The Rapture
We believe the church will be delivered from the “hour of trial” which will come upon all who dwell on the earth, being “caught up” in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air (the Rapture). (1 Thessalonians 4:16-171 Corinthians 15:51-55Revelation 3:10)
The Return of Jesus Christ
We believe the saints will return with Christ to the earth, at His Second Coming, to rule and reign with Him. (Jude 1:14Revelation 19:11-16Revelation 20:4)
We believe in the pre-millennial return of Christ, to sit upon the throne of David and rule over the house of Jacob (Israel), and the entire cosmos, forever. (Revelation 20:1-6Luke 1:31-33Isaiah 9:6-7)
We believe in the resurrection of the dead. Some will be raised to life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt (hell). We believe that God will create a new heaven and earth in which righteousness will dwell. We believe that the throne of God and the Lamb (Jesus Christ) will be established in the New Jerusalem forever. (Daniel 12:2John 5:25-29Revelation 21:1-22:5)

Senior/Teaching Pastor

Darrick was called into ministry by the Lord shortly after he was saved at the age of 20. After attending Calvary Chapel Bible College in California, Darrick returned to Evansville and started New Beginnings, a small church that met in a home. As the Lord has grown the church over the last 21 years, Darrick has served as the senior/teaching pastor since its beginnings.

Worship, Family, Youth Pastor

From a young age, the Lord called and set Doug apart for the ministry. After graduating from Marshall University (Huntington, WV), Doug attended Eastern Seminary (WV Extension and Philadelphia, PA) and served in several churches as a Youth, Worship and Family pastor. In 2002, Doug and his family moved to Evansville to plant a church. After 8 years of serving as the senior pastor there, the Lord led Doug and his family to serve at New Beginnings as the Family, Worship, and Youth Pastor.

Our vision is to build people up in Christ through the systematic teaching of God's Word. The Word of God has a transforming effect upon the lives of those it touches. New Beginnings Lakeside Church was established to win people to Christ by sharing the truths and simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
And finally, our vision is to send people into the world for Christ that
by Him the world might be impacted for eternity.
